There is the Earth Treks Climbing centre in Columbia, which is in Howard County. This is the largest climbing centre on the East Coast and it has a climbing surface that resembles a South Western canyon with 45foot high cliffs. The young at heart and the avid hiker will love this centre. There is a golf course at Diamond Ridge that has a par 71, which is quite a challenge, and also at the Carroll Park Municipal Golf Course, one can play at the 12-hole course that will perk you up and get some fresh air into your veins. Also of a sporting nature is the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, which feature all the old Orioles memorabilia, as well as Babes boyhood bat. For a day out with the kids, bring them to Charm City, which is an entertaining place for the children. The Port Discovery has a great tree house that will keep the kids playing for hours. The National Aquarium in Baltimore is real fun and they now have a simulated rainforest, as well as a great dolphin show. The Maryland Science Centre has great interactive displays and exhibits that focus on marine biology and astronomy that will stretch the imagination of the little ones. The Walters Art Gallery in downtown Baltimore is very popular and has a fine collection of Asian Art. The nearby Baltimore Museum of Art displays work from modern American Artists that is delightful. |
